Political Divide

This post is more or less a rebuttal to all my left leaning friends that choose to be on the side of the Obama administration. I've been called names and accused of falsifying facts. I've been charged with being "what's wrong with America" and a disciple of Fox News. I must be doing something right. If my words bring about a reprisal from an individual or a group, then they are thinking about my words.

The greatest foe of a totalitarian state is free speech. The only way to arrive at that totalitarian state is free speech. The very tool that they employ to reach their objective, will be the tool they will readily strip from us. "If you want to know who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize." -Voltaire

It is increasingly taboo to criticize Obama and his choices.

As a self professed Libertarian, I care not what my fellow man does with his time as long as it does not encroach on my liberties. Are we as a nation to believe our morals will not evolve? Individual rights should be left to the individual. We need to return to a state where personal responsibility is heralded. I make no apologies for who I am and how I got where I am in life.

When we see the actions of people who profess to be 'liberals' or 'left leaning' or outright progressives, socialists and communist, those actions take on almost a carnival atmosphere. Chaining themselves to courthouse stairs, trees or gas pumps, parading around naked to protest the fur trade, destroying public and private property and picketing/blocking access to business and public services to 'drive home' their way of thought. Removing any sign of God from our schools and public buildings. Filing suit against schools that celebrate any secular holiday. Bullying. From the very people that profess to champion the bullied (in their view). These are the people that think they are smarter then the whole. These are the self professed leaders. These are the people that will sell our future to prove they are right. Even if they are not.

Loss of liberty is an insidious process. We adapt. It's how we carry on with our day to day life. It's how we see that $4 a gallon gas is now normal. That gradual climb in our grocery bill slips under our noses. How we don't really miss that $100 less in our paychecks, or that we pay more for our other goods and services. We won't see it coming if we don't take an active stance now. One day we will all wake up to a completely different America.

That's my two cents, spend 'em or put 'em in the dish for the next person.
